
Eligibility: Veterans and Service-Members. Support persons (age 11+) welcome as a partner of an approved participant.
Overview: Veteran Fishing University (VFU) is a program where we will teach a cohort group of veterans or service members how to fish the three major disciplines of fishing (open water/boat, ice fishing, and fly fishing).

2027 Applications are open until November 1. Applications received after November 1 will be put on a waitlist or considered for a future year. The number of available spots is determined by budget availability. Exact dates and location will be confirmed upon finalization of cohort. Selected participants will be notified after the application period closes in November.
Ice Fishing: one weekend (Fri-Sun) in January
Open Water: one weekend (Fri-Sun) in May
Fly Fishing: three – two hour fly tying sessions in February, numerous two hour fishing sessions scheduled throughout May-September
Fishing Charter: June (one day, early morning through lunch)
Participation Requirements:
Waiver must be completed by all participants prior to any activity.
