Vito Ethan Cinquepalmi, husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 7, 2023, after losing his battle with mental illness. He was born on February 11th, 1991, in Dallas, Texas. In 2001, Vito moved to Crivitz, where he would later graduate from Crivitz High School in 2009. In 2010, Vito enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Vito completed a rigorous marine artillery scout observer course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Vito was trained in and responsible for communicating with combat pilots and infantrymen to successfully direct ordinance and artillery support for ground units in combat. Vito was immediately deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While on routine security patrol, LCPL Cinquepalmi successfully returned fire to enemy combatants. Vito survived combat and was later awarded a Combat Action Ribbon, commonly known as CAR. Sergeant Cinquepalmi went on to give back to the Marine Corps by serving as a successful recruiter in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Due to his recruiting efforts, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant. SSGT Cinquepalmi motivated many young men and women to join the marines. SSGT Cinquepalmi wanted his marines to be better than him; he wouldn’t accept anything less. In 2018, Vito was honorably discharged from active duty and immediately started a beautiful family, bringing Leo and Gia Cinquepalmi to life. Vito enjoyed his job at UPS, and the kids loved his “brown truck.” Vito also enjoyed working on his vehicles, tinkering in his garage, lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and spending time with his family. Vito spent his last months devoted to praying the Holy Rosary.
Let’s move forward with helping those in honor of Vito who are impacted by PTSD, suicide, and mental health battles – to know that there are caring individuals, groups, and communities ready to step up and offer support!
Leave a memory of Vito, note for the family, or anything that’s on your mind.
